Steady demand underpins China's Fesi market

Chinese ferro-silicon prices are expected by market par- ticipants to hold stable in the short term because of steady demand from downstream steel and magnesium producers. Domestic prices for 72pc grade ferro-silicon alloy were assessed stable at 5,500-5,600 yuan/t ($805-820/t) ex-works yesterday, following a rise of Yn50/t on 3 September in response to higher demand from steel producers. Prices for 75pc grade alloy have been unchanged at Yn5,650-5,750/t ex-works over the past month.
