Gem secures ni, Co deal with indonesia's HPal

Chinese battery material manufacturer Green Eco-Manufac- ture (Gem) has agreed to buy power-battery grade nickel and cobalt from Indonesia’s HPAL for eight years. HPAL will supply 74,400-178,560t metal equivalent of nickel feedstocks to Gem, mainly nickel hydroxide interme- diates and nickel sulphate. It will also provide 9,296-22,320t metal equivalent of cobalt by-products, mainly cobalt sulphate.
