The present field experiment was conducted during the summer seaon of 1994 at Agronomy farm of Project Directorate for Cropping Systems Research, Modipuram, Meerut to study the effect of intercropping of mungbean on the productivity of sunflower planted under different planting pattern and its resource use. The soil of the experimental field was sandy loam in texture and slightly alkaline in reaction (pH 7.2). It was low in available nitrogen (168.50 kg/ha), available phosphorus (13.52 kg/ha) and inorganic carbon content (0.30 percent) and high in exchangeable K (512.00 kg/ha).
