摘要

The efficacy of Glomus intraradices, Glomus mosseae, Glomus clarum, Gigaspora margarita and Gigaspora gigantea in controlling white rot in onion caused by Sclerotium cepivorum was determined in greenhouse and field experiments conducted in Egypt during 2001-03. The vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizas (VAM) were applied in the seed bed 14 days before transplanting, used for dipping onion bulbs before transplanting and for soil drenching 14 days after transplanting. All the tested mycorrhizas controlled white rot in onion and increased the yield of the crop under greenhouse and field conditions. Application of VAM in seed beds 14 days before transplanting, dipping of bulbs before transplanting time and soil drenching with VAM resulted in the highest root colonization by VAM of onion plants, sporulation density of the VAM, plant disease control efficiency and crop yield.
