China imported 48pc less rare earth metal ores from the US in April than March, despite a 41pc year-on-year rise on the year. Continued price falls in China’s praseodymium-neodymium market from weaker stockpiling demand from the magnet manufacturing industry were cited as the main reason behind the lower shipments from the US.
