Freeport’s 1Q Cu production, sales rise

US-based mining firm Freeport-McMoRan’s combined sales of copper products rose by 13.2pc on the year in JanuaryMarch, as production and sales from its Indonesian Grasberg underground mine doubled over the period. Its combined production of copper products also increased by 24.5pc over the same period, as some shipments were deferred to the second quarter from January-March.
