Voestalpine to upgrade flats-rolling equipment

Austria's Voestalpine has placed Primetals Technologies an order to convert a continuous tandem line, installed in a cold-rolling mill No. 3 at Linz plant, into a tandem pickling line under the BETA 3 project, Metal Expert learnt from the contractor's press release. According to the source, the fully automated tandem pickling line will process 1.5?6 mm thick and up to 1,770 mm wide strips. The finished product will have a thickness of 0.5?3 mm, while the thickness of rolled electrical steel can be reduced to 0.3 mm.
