EFFECT OF PLANT GROWTH REGULATORS ON FRUIT DROP, YIELD AND QUALITY OF KHASI MANDARIN(CITRUS RETICULATA BLANCO) FRUITS

A study was conducted with three plant growth regulatirs viz, 2, 4, 5-D, 2, 4, 5-T and GA_3 in various concentration as folier spray in Madarin orange at ICAR Rcsarch Complex for NEH Region, Arunchal Pradesh centre, Basar during year 1999-2000. Results showed that application of plant growth regulaors significantly reduced fruit drop and enhanced yield. The application of 27 mgl~(-1) 2. 4-D was found most effective in controlling of fruit drop upto 60% and increased yield by 79.16% as compared to untreated trees. However, application of 27 mgl~(-1)' of 2. 4, 5-T gave the highest fruit weight (181-60gm) and juice content in fruit (90. 10ml/fruit).
