Heat Wave Brings Hot Sales Season

In many countries, 2010 is turning into one of the hottest summers of the last ten years. Regions of Japan have been baking since the end of the rainy season in early July, with the mercury hitting 35℃ or higher at more than 90% of observation points nationwide. In the United States, a heat wave swept the eastern part of the country at the end of July, with temperatures in the upper 90℉ or topping 100℉ (about 38℃) in many cities. Beijing, China, saw 12 days in July with temperatures higher than 35℃, which is more days over 35 C than Beijing usually sees in an entire year. In Moscow, Russia, where the average temperature for July is 23℃, temperatures soared to over 35℃ for about 10 days, making it the hottest summer in 130 years. Finland hit a high of 34.2℃ on July 13, the highest temperature recorded in 75 years. Meanwhile in Kuwait, it was a scorching 54℃ in the middle of June, a record-high temperature for the country.
