NORTH AFRICAN OIL and gas producers have not been immune to the challenges that have been presented in 2020, particularly the COVID-19 pandemic and oil prices, which reached historic lows earlier this year. An examination of committed and planned investments is a good barometer of the long-term health of the oil and gas industry in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. APICORP has released its annual investment report, the MENA Energy Investments Outlook Report 2020, which finds that the company has significantly reduced its investment outlook amount for 2020-2024 to US$792bn, a US$173mn drop compared with US$965bn in 2019-2023.
