China’s combined exports of tungsten products in January-June dropped by 28pc to 7,885t W from 11,005t W a yearearlier. Total export revenues were $263.6mn with an aver-age value of $33,420/t W. Assuming a similar drop for theyear as a whole would take Chinese tungsten exports from20,555t W in 2019 to 14,725t W in 2020.The Covid-19 pandemic has slowed global economic growthand pressured demand for tungsten products in the firsthalf of 2020. The upcoming summer holidays in westerncountries and the continued impact of the virus are likely tofurther reduce China’s exports in the coming months.
