China's tungsten exports increased by 15pc in the first quarter of this year, mainly on higher demand from Asian markets. Combined exports of tungsten products during January-March rose to almost 5,000t from 4,350t a year earlier, according to customs data. In terms of contained tungsten, China's combined exports of tungsten products in the first three months of the year were 4,255t, up from 3,700t in 2020. Total export revenues were $147.7mn with an average value of $34,700/t. A similar increase for the year as a whole would take Chinese tungsten exports from 13,640t in 2020 to 15,700t in 2021.
