The European benchmark ferro-chrome price for the second quarter of 2020 has yet to be settled as the coronavirus pandemic has caused a lockdown in key exporter South Africa. South African ferro-chrome producers, including the Glencore-Merafe Resources joint venture and Samancor, have declared force majeure on most contracts following a 21-day lockdown in the country that began 26 March.
