Coronavirus cuts China's February FeCr output

China's output of high-carbon ferro-chrome fell in February after most smelters reduced or halted production because of disruptions caused by the coronavirus outbreak, weaker demand and lower-than-expected tender prices paid by stainless steel mills. The country produced 323,100t of high-carbon alloy in February, down by 135,800t or 29.6pc from January and by 21pc from 409,000t in the same month in 2019.
