Amag earnings hit by Covid-19 disruption in 3Q

Austrian downstream aluminium producer Amag posted another sharp fall in quarterly earnings over the July-Sep- tember period, as demand for the company’s recycled cast alloys and aluminium rolled products continued to struggle amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Amag's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (ebitda) totalled €20.4mn ($23.9mn) in the third quarter, down by 45.1pc on the year. This followed a second quarter in which ebitda sank by 41.2pc on the year to €22.9mn.
