摘要

To the editor: The Federation of European Physiological Societies (FEPS) 2009 meeting in Ljubljana started with a workshop on the role of basic sciences in medical curricula and on evaluation of study progress by means of a relatively new evaluation format, i.e. the portfolio. FEPS initiated this workshop not only because one of her essential tasks is guarding and steering Physiology as a discipline in the medical curriculum but also simply because teaching innovations deserve the critical attention of modern, academic educators.
