Europe: Mo prices hit seven-month high

Molybdenum prices Europe continued to rise in October to reach a seven-month high as Chinese buying interest returned following the Golden Week holidays. Tightness in alloy supply and increased consumption in China also sup- ported the oxide powder market. Antimony prices edged up as the China market contin- ued to rise. But low demand in Europe is keeping prices at a wide discount to Chinese export values. Spot market activity across electronic metal markets has lately slowed further because measures to tackle rising Covid-19 cases have made it difficult for firms to to forecast consumer demand. Buyers are still restricting themselves to purchases for immediate production needs. Prices for in- dium, gallium, germanium, bismuth, selenium and tellurium are all unchanged on last week.
