Metal futures: Markets rise before china return

Base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange mostly rose in today's official session ahead of the return of China from its golden week holiday. The three-month LME copper contract rose by 1.3pc to $6,622.50/t, while Comex’s next most active month copper contract gained 0.3pc to settle at $3.04/lb. Three-month LME aluminum contract edged up by 1.7pc to $1,802/t, as the three-month LME nickel contract in- creased by 0.8pc to $14,728/t.
