China's Gem boosts cobalt tetroxide sales

Chinese battery material producer Green Eco-Manufacture (Gem) increased its sales of cobalt tetroxide in 2020, while total output and sales of total battery materials fell with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in and outside China. The firm sold 15,429t of cobalt tetroxide in 2020, up by 54pc from 2019 and a new historical high. Its production capacity of cobalt tetroxide has been expanded to more than 25,000 t/yr.
