US Cu: Premiums stall

Grade A copper cathode premiums held last weeks’ increase despite as tepid demand counterbalanced the advance in the Comex price. Argus assessed grade A copper cathode premiums at 7-7.5￠/lb delivered to the Midwest, holding for the week as freight rates remain high. Spot activity for copper cathodes remained subdued for the week with the limited number of possible buyers on the sidelines, waiting for the exchange market to settle after the rapid rise.
