Markets mostly lower on growth concerns

Most base metal prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) fell in Tuesday's official session as uncertainty over global economic growth persisted, while concerns of further slowing of China's economy contributed to the broadly bearish sentiment. The three-month LME aluminum contract fell by 2.8pc to $2,844.50/t. The aluminum cash-to-three-month contango rose to $13.50/t. Norwegian aluminum producer Norsk Hydro today reported its July-September adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization more than doubled on the year to 7.22bn kroner ($870mn). It also said that its implied all-in cost of production for the period was $1,925/t.
