Higher sponge costs to lift China's Ti ingot prices

Market participants expect a sharp rise in titanium sponge feedstock costs, driven by reduced spot supply availability, to outweigh limited demand from the mill products manufacturing sector to boost Chinese titanium ingot prices in the coming weeks. Titanium ingot prices have been assessed stable at 70,000-72,000 yuan/t ($10,880-11,190/t) ex-works for the TA2 grade since 3 August when prices moved down from Yn72,000-75,000/t ex-works. Prices have also been unchanged at Yn71,000-73,000/t ex-works for TA1 and Yn74,000-78,000/t ex-works for TA3 since 3 August.
