Umicore signs Li deals with Ganfeng, Vulcan Energy

European battery chemical maker Umicore signed longterm lithium supply agreements today with China's Ganfeng Lithium and Germany's Vulcan Energy Resources. Jiangxi-based Ganfeng will cover a "significant part" of Umicore's future lithium requirements in Asia-Pacific from its Australian hard-rock deposits and deliveries will begin next year, the company said. Umicore owns battery material production plants in Jiangmen, China, and Cheoman, South Korea.
