Pumpkins

Pumpkins are less well established as a seasonal stock than turkeys or Christmas Trees, but the market for them has many similarities. Work starts early in the year and ends in a rush during the run-up to a very short selling period. We look at the prospects for new entrants. From one point of view, this could be the wrong time to write about pumpkins. The UK's largest producer, Fenland farmer David Bowman, says: "The price is coming down rapidly. The glory days have gone."
