Invenergy, BW Secure Funds for Conversion to FSRU

Invenergy and BW that are planning an LNG project in El Salvador using a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) have secured funds for conversion of a vessel. They agreed to receive $128.3 million from IDB Investment to convert a normal LNG carrier to an FSRU to use it as an LNG receiving facility. The conversion work has already started. Invenergy last September signed a deal on the conversion with Singapore’s Keppel Offshore & Marine to convert a 2002-built 137,000-cubic-meter LNG carrier “Gallina” to an FSRU named “BT Tatiana” with a regasification capacity of 280 million cubic feet a day.
