Aramco upbeat over swift demand rebound as COVID-19 vaccines roll out

Dubai—The rollout of COVID-19 vaccinations across the world will help trigger a V-shape recovery in commodity prices this year, the head of trading at the world’s top oil exporter Saudi Aramco has said, as OPEC weighs its next moves to balance the oil market through 2021. Noting the sharp recovery in oil and other commodity prices in recent weeks on the back of the vaccine approvals, Aramco Trading’s President and CEO Ibrahim al-Buainain said Jan. 13 he is “optimistic that the market will recover faster than what we initially expected.”
