Houston—US independent Murphy Oil sees a flatter oil production profile in 2021 and the next few years, while stepping up its natural gas output from Canada and keeping capital spending about the same year over year, its top executive said Jan. 28. Murphy, which has grown its US Gulf of Mexico presence in recent years, also said it will push on with development of already sanctioned oil-weighted projects in that offshore arena despite a recent decision by the Biden Administration to cancel the March Gulf lease sale, company CEO Roger Jenkins said during a fourth-quarter earnings call.
