Six years ago we reported on the end of fur farming in the UK. At the time, junior agriculture minister Elliot Morley said: "The Government believes it is wrong for animals to be farmed and slaughtered for their fur. "It is not consistent with a proper value and respect for animal life." Quite by chance, the enactment of this measure coincided with a great revival in the use of fur in the world of fashion.
