Flaring Fall Lags Oil Output Decline

Global flaring of natural gas fell at a slower pace than oil production in 2020, according to satellite data compiled by the World Bank-led Global Gas Flaring Reduction Partnership (GGFR). Gas flaring declined by 5% year on year to 142 Bcm, while oil production fell by about 8%, the GGFR said in its Global Gas Flaring Tracker report.
