BP significantly expanded its solar power project queue last week with a deal to acquire a 9 GW portfolio from US player 7X Energy - equivalent to 64% of its current project pipeline. The modest $220 million price tag reflects the early-stage nature of the projects. BP said assets with a combined generation capacity of 2.2 GW are expected to reach project sanction by 2025, but the rest will follow by 2030.
