Tanzania's energy minister sets bullish negotiation deadline for Tanzania LNG

Tanzania's energy minister told a stakeholder gathering this week that the government is aiming to conclude negotiations with Shell and Equinor for the key agreements underpinning the proposed Tanzania LNG development by October. The proposed deadline is seen as bullish by some market observers, however Equinor and Shell's country managers in Tanzania told President Samia Suluhu Hassan that 2021 "must be the year when action is taken" to conclude the key agreements.
