India’s BPCL restructures assets

Indian state-controlled refiner Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) has completed restructuring its assets on the road to privatisation, which has been delayed by a year to late 2021. BPCL has approved the sale of its 61.65pc stake in the 60,000 b/d Numaligarh refinery in northeast India’s Assam to a consortium of state-run explorer Oil India, state-controlled en- gineering and construction frm Engineers India and the Assam government for 98.76bn rupees ($1.3bn), the company said. BPCL is expanding the landlocked plant to 180,000 b/d.
