Gazprom Neft Lowers Yamal Field Plans

Russia's Gazprom Neft could significantly cut planned production from the giant Novy Port field on the Yamal Peninsula because of recent tax changes, the company said. Russian producers are revising their portfolios in response to tax amendments conceived to generate more revenues for the state budget in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Gazprom Neft's Deputy CEO Vadim Yakovlev said that the company now sees production from the Novy Port field at just 6.5 million metric tons/yr (130,360 b/d) by 2024, down from a planned 8 million tons/yr (160,500 b/d) due to an unfavorable change in tax conditions.
