OUTLOOK ’21: China's MEG to face supply pressure from capacity expansion

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s monoethylene glycol (MEG) market will continue to suffer from oversupply in 2021, as capacity expansions outpace the growth of demand which has been battered by the coronavirus worldwide. Exports, as a result, are very likely to increase, because about 4.95m tonnes of new capacities came onstream in 2020 in China - up by 45% year on year, according to ICIS.
