Opec meetings used to be infrequent events and all the bigger for it.Ministers would gather in Vienna twice a year,trying to accommodate differing market views into a cohesive production policy,and usually reacting too slowly to events.The Opec+ decision to move ministerial meetings to a monthly footing in December last year has proved to be a major factor-together with the taming of the shale sector-behind the producer alliance's resurgent market power.It has led to a period of relative stability in an extremely uncertain time for oil markets.
