China's Qinhuangdao port stocks rise on week

Coal inventories at China's main coal trans-shipment port of Qinhuangdao edged higher on the week while vessel queues at the port surged as coastal utilities intensified winter restocking ahead of a new cold snap. Coal stockpiles at Qinhuangdao stood at 4.92mn t on 13 January, up by 10,000t on the week, according to data from coal industry association the CCTD. Both inbound deliveries and offtake levels fell from last week because of weatherrelated disruptions to port and rail activity in north China.
