ZEKE spectroscopy: Into the new millennium

Four years ago, a review of zero electron kinetic energy (ZEKE) spectroscopy appeared in these volumes; it described the technique from its inception in 1984 through to the status at the time. In 1998 the field was developing quickly, with a wide range of molecules being studied, and new variants on the ZEKE technique being developed. It is our pleasant task to review the work done in the intervening four years, and to bring the reader up to date in this exciting area. We emphasise that we shall not cover every paper in this aerab, but will select examples from the available literature: naturally, this selection will be biased by our own interests, as well as being limited by time and space constraints.
