摘要

In this paper we propose an end-fire antenna fed by a spoof surface plasmon transmission line that can exhibit a conical directional response. The plasmonic transmission line is composed of metallic strips of periodic sawtooth grooves that taper towards the firing end of the strip. By tapering the sawtooth grooves, reflection is suppressed, and a high gain is achieved when the spoof surface plasmons radiate into free space. Simulated results indicate that our antenna can achieve high efficiency and a maximum gain of 12.4 dBi within a wide operating band from 6 to 13 GHz. The antenna proposed in this paper has a simple and compact structure with a lateral dimension of approximately 0.19λ0* 0.32λ_0 and shows great potential for use in spoof surface plasmon polariton communication systems along with integrated circuits.
