The Healthcare Pilgrim's Progress

Healthcare innovation is a desired outcome.Progress implies more than innovation, focusing on achieving forward motion or advancement.This article focuses on both, reflecting on the historical perspectives of those outside of healthcare policy and practice who chose to, as Gandhi said, "be the change that you wish to see in the world." We point out that innovation sustains the ecosystems that are required to deliver them, but progress is possible only when those ecosystems are themselves changed as a result of the innovation.
