China Steel Corporation issues FAC for VD modernization

Taiwan’s China Steel Corporation (CSC) has granted SMS group a final acceptance certificate (FAC) for modernization of a vacuum degasser at Kaohsiung plant, Metal Expert learnt from the contractor’s press release. According to the source, in February under pandemic conditions the modernization of the vacuum pump of 160-tonne Ruhrstahl-Heraeu vacuum degasser (800,000 tpy), originally supplied by SMS group in the 1980s, was successfully completed.
