Interroll has unveiled what it claims is the world's most powerful synchronous drum motor for belt conveyors, with an output of 1.8kW. It will allow automated material flow systems to be implemented economically to transport a wider range of goods using a single conveyor system. The DM 0138 drum motor offers good acceleration and braking performance with low energy consumption and the ability to position conveyed goods precisely without needing extra sensors, simplifying the integration of packaging and other processing machines into automated flows. The 138mm-diameter motor has an output that previously could only be achieved using 165mm-diameter asynchronous motors.
