Investigations on the thermal conduction behaviors of reduced graphene oxide/aramid nanofibers composites

Recently, aramid nanofibers (ANF) have attracted much attention due to the outstanding mechanical, insulating, and high temperature resistance properties. However, the poor thermal conduction behaviors severely limit their application fields, especially under some harsh conditions. To overcome this issue, reduced graphene oxide (rGO) which has been proven to have high thermal conductivity was used as an additive to improve the thermal conduction ability of ANF films in this work. The results show that the thermal conductivity of rGO/ANF composite is higher than those of pure ANF and GO/ANF films, which also increases with the increased rGO content. The 40% rGO can enhance the thermal conductivity of ANF by 1250%.
