Churchill and the Dardanelles

It is appropriate during this First World War centenary to take another look at the Dardanelles Campaign (1915) and, in particular, the role and actions of Winston Churchill. Much like the later battle of Jutland (1916), the Dardanelles campaign has been the subject of considerable controversy and discussion. The Dardanelles offensive was a failure of the first magnitude, while Jutland for many was a Royal Navy disappointment.
