Globally, oil and gas transmission pipelines comprise a network of over 3 million km: 2.2 million km in the US. 287 000 km in Europe and 115 000 km in Canada, which - along with the volume of hydrocarbons being transported - is rapidly increasing. In 2014, the global network of pipelines was valued at more than US$8680 million.
