Germany - The Mercedes-Benz AG truck manufacturing plant in Worth now has a fully implemented inbound truck supply chain to manage truck deliveries to optimise delivery times as well as optimising downtime. The Inbound Logistics unit at the Worth plant and Daimler's IT unit, and project partners, Inform and Fleetboard Logistics, have integrated SyncroSupply - a truck control software from Inform - to manage and synchronise inbound deliveries. SynchroSupply controls plant inbound traffic using a time slot management system whereby the freight forwarders' vehicles register, using Fleetboard Logistics's HABBL App, their trip details: When on the road, the truck send out status updates of estimated time of arrival every 15 minutes and at predefined distances along the route. Well in advance of the destination, the truck control software sends drivers a green light to drive directly into the plant. If all the docks are busy, the drivers are asked to wait outside the plant and take their scheduled break early. At the plant gate, drivers use a barcode in the App to identify themselves and drive right in.
