Square Mile targets van reduction

Five 'last mile' logistics hubs are planned for the City of London within the next four years to help cut by half the numbers of delivery vans on its streets. The first of these facilities will open this summer within the London Wall car park, where the City of London Corporation has made 39 parking spaces available for use by online retail distributor Amazon. The firm is expected to be able to complete all deliveries within a 2km radius of the hub without the need for motorised freight vehicles.
