Demand for organic food products and awareness about environmental concerns have led to increased interest of farmers in organic farming. Some farmers have already taken initiative in this new venture. Organic farming prohibits the use of synthetic fertilizers, weedicides, fungicides, insecticides and plant growth regulators for crop production. It relies upon crop rotations, green manures, organic manures, biofertilizers, composts and biological pest management. Stress is laid on improving the soilhealth rather than providing nutrition to the crop plants.
