Dear Editor: Graphical depictions of longitudinal study designs have recently been proposed by Schneeweiss et al. for observational studies using real world healthcare data (RWD). The common visual language of these diagrams can improve the clarity of communication regarding complex longitudinal study designs and is also a tool to identify potential biases, for example, immortal time bias. The original paper provided a set of Microsoft PowerPoint templates for users to manually edit for their studies. This can be time-consuming if substantial edits need to be made and proper positioning and scaling relative to the axes are desired.
