Global prices make gains

Crude prices moved higher as the prospect of tightening global supplies ofset news of more stringent Covid-19 restrictions in much of Europe. After trading in a narrow range in the fnal two weeks of 2020, global prices jumped sharply in early January. Atlantic basin benchmark North Sea Dated frmed to $53.90/bl by 7 January, a rise of $3.49/bl on the week and $2.71/bl higher than on 17 December. US marker WTI climbed by $2.29/bl over the three-week period to $50.83/bl.
