A laboratory study of sea bass exposed to recorded sounds of pile-driving concludes that fish behavior can be negatively impacted by such noise. "Sound can influence the spatial and directional organizational characteristics of fish shoals, and as such, should be considered when environmental impact assessments of construction projects in marine or freshwater environments are conducted," the authors concluded.
